JS G-KUNENA configuration settings

JS G-KUNENA is a JomSocial addon made up of a Joomla! component and some plugins.

Once JS G-KUNENA is installed, you can configure the component using the configuration settings.

This is the procedure:

1.- Login to the Joomla! back-end.

2.- Go to Components → JS G-KUNENA → Configuration

Settings are grouped into sections and include the following parameters:

JS G-Kunena Integration Settings, Group View

• Display Style: to select the display style to use: JomSocial style (text based) or JS G-KUNENA style (with avatars).
• Maximum # Post: sets the maximum mumber of Kunena Forum posts (threads) that will be shown on the JS Group view. For example, if you set this value to 3, on the JS Group view only the last three commented threads on the forum will be shown. You can still view them all by selecting the "Show All" link.
• Show Creator Image: whether to show the avatar of the Kunena Forum thread creator and a link to the profile.
• Show Commenter Image: whether to show the avatar of the last Kunena Forum thread commenter and a link to the profile.
• Display Comments: whether to show the number of comments for each Kunena Forum thread.
• Show Date: whether to show the Kunena Forum thread creation date.

JS G-Kunena Integration Settings, Latest Discussion

• Display Style: to select the display style to use: JomSocial style (text based) or JS G-KUNENA style (with avatars).
• Maximum # Post: sets the maximum mumber of Kunena Forum posts (threads) that will be shown on the JS Latest Discussion sidebar. For example, if you set this value to 3, on the JS Latest Discussion sidebar only the last three commented threads on the group forums will be shown.
• Show Creator Image: whether to show the avatar of the Kunena Forum thread creator and a link to the profile.
• Show Commenter Image: whether to show the avatar of the last Kunena Forum thread commenter and a link to the profile.
• Display Comments: whether to show the number of comments for each Kunena Forum thread.

JS G-Kunena Assignement Settings

• Unique Forum Assignment: when set to "Yes", a Kunena Forum can be assigned to only one JS Groups. It won't be allowed to assign the same Kunena Forum to more than one JS Group.
• When No Assigment: what to show when no Kunena Forum has been assigned to the JS Group. If set to "Show Warning", a warning message will be displayed, prompting the user to contact the site administrator. If set to "Use Default Category", a default Kunena Forum will be used for those JS Groups that haven't yet been asigned a forum.
• Default Forum: default Kunena Forum to be used for JS Groups without a forum assigment when the above parameter is set to "Use Default Category".

JS Group Automatic Forum Creation on Kunena Category

• Automtic Forum Creation: when set to "Yes", when a new JS Group is created a new Kunena Forum is created at the same time, and both are linked together.
• Unique Category Assigment: whether the same Kunena Forum category can be assigned to more than one JS Group.
• When No Category Assignment: what to show when no Kunena Forum category has been assigned to the JS Group category. If set to "Use Default Category", a default Kunena Forum category will be used for those JS Group categories that haven't yet been asigned a category.
• Default Category: default Kunena Forum Category to be used for JS Group Categories without a forum category assigment when the above parameter is set to "Use Default Category".
• Automatic Creator as Forum Moderator: to enable/disable the feature to automatically set the group owner as the forum moderator on the automatic forum creation.

JS Group Headers

• Show forum link: whether to display the Kunena Forum in the JS Group header.
• Show JS Group website: whether to display a link to the JS Group website. The JS Group website in set by the JomSocial backend, not by JS G-KUNENA, but you can enable it by using this JS G-KUNENA parameter.

JS G-Kunena User Settings

• Automatic Forum Subscription: whether user are automatically subscribed to JS Group forums. This functionality mimics former JS Group discussion functionality: when a new post is created into a JS Group Forum, an email is sent to the group members.

JS G-Kunena Toolbar/Menu

• Include Group Links: whether to include JS G-KUNENA group forum links inside the JomSocial toolbar.
• Max. # Group Links: maximum number of JS G-KUNENA group forum links to be shown inside the toolbar.
